West Indies Finally Taste Success against Pakistan in 3rd Test

braithwaiteNew Delhi, Thursday, November 3 – Pakistan dreamed of ending the series against West Indies on an outstanding note but things usually do not take place as thought in cricket, which is considered a sport where a lot can be witnessed in a short span of time. At Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium in Sharjah, the final was played.

West Indies, who were beaten in both T20 and ODI series at the hands of Pakistan cricket team, wanted to bounce back as it was a matter of pride. Despite the fact that they lost Test series 1-2 as well in opposition to Pakistan but a win in the end is always confidence boosting. Having Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Sami Aslam, Younis Khan, Sarfraz Ahmed, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir and Zulfiqar Babar in the team and Sohail Khan, Babar Azam, Rahat Ali and Imran Khan in extra, Pakistan probably did not think of being on the losing side in the end.

At the same time, West Indies thought of going back home with their heads held high but it demanded stunning show for the reason that it would have been tough for them to imagine about performing better in the coming days post being winless against Pakistan. Kraigg Brathwaite’s ton certainly guided them stay strong. Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Leon Johnson, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Shannon Gabriel, Devendra Bishoo and Jermaine Blackwood also tried to do their bit. Carlos Brathwaite, Miguel Cummins, Shai Hope and Jomel Warrican sat on bench but were keen to see their team getting close to victory.

West Indies were able to get 337 runs in response to 281 runs by Pakistan in their first innings. Even though lead was feeble, they were able to succeed after Pakistan were all out at 208 runs. West Indies fans were elated to see their team logging win by five wickets, attaining 154 runs in 43.5 overs. They got something to cheer in the end that wasn’t likely post seeing good show by Pakistan throughout their tour to UAE. Kraigg Brathwaite was declared Man of Match, while Yasir Shah received Player of the Series award.
